SEASON 2006/07
Results From Womens Country Championships October
Long Weekend Opens
Division
The Opens Squad finished 3rd overall which was a good result considering
one of their main players Hannah Perry dislocated her knee in the 2nd game
on the Sat which left them a player short & at this level is a big hurdle
to overcome & they ended up playing off in the 3rd/4th position 2 players
short
Out of the Opens squad Jenny Wallace was selected in the Country 1sts as
Capt & Charlotte Anneveld was also picked in the squad to play City
U 17s Squad
The U17s where fantastic in that they finished 2nd overall (the best
result we have had in this division) being undefeated until the final
where they met a very strong South Coast team (a very strong squad
boasting 4 State players) at the end of our 30 overs we were 8/88 & Sth
Coast reached 2/89 after 22 overs
Our girls performed exceptionally well some stats for the following girls
Samantha Brazel 8 wickets for 40 runs off 21 overs with 2 catches
Kayla Wright 8 wickets for 46 runs off 24 overs ,2 catches & 54 runs
Brodie Neems 7 wickets for 34 runs off 20 overs ,6 catches & 65 runs
Rebecca Hudson wicket keeper 1 catch & 89 runs ave 26.5
Of the 25 wickets taken by Sam ,Kayla & Brodie 5 were caught & 20 were
bowled, which shows an excellent line & length was the order of the day
